How to Buy Pre-Owned Luxury in Bulk: 5 Wholesale Sources Checked
Last Updated on:
Pre-owned designer bags, watches and jewelry are sold in bulk through trade channels, not through the brands' own stores. The main routes are dealer auctions in Japan, business-to-business (B2B) auction platforms in Asia, and wholesale platforms and liquidation marketplaces in the United States. Most of them ask you to register as a business first.
Below are 5 sources that sell pre-owned or returned luxury stock to businesses, with who can join, the buyer fees each one states on its own pages and how each handles authenticity. Every section shows the date we checked it. Fees and rules change, so confirm them on the platform before you register.

LePrix Wholesale (United States)
LePrix calls itself the leading B2B platform to source authenticated, pre-loved luxury. It started as SnobSwap, became LePrix in 2018, expanded into Paris in 2022 and opened a presence in Japan in 2023. Its home page says over 180,000 authenticated pre-owned items are available monthly from wholesale suppliers and auction houses.
How it works: Buyers bid in auctions that are open daily or buy from Wholesale Stock at fixed "buy now" prices, with new items every week. There is no minimum buy-in.
Who can join: Only businesses. Its retailer terms ask for an online, brick and mortar or pop-up store that is open for business, and proof of a valid reseller's permit or certificate and a business license, EIN, VAT number or business ID. LePrix says it replies to applications within 48 hours.
Buyer fees: LePrix ships free to all US customers and covers customs and duty fees from its suppliers to its US office. Buyers in Europe pay shipping, which is added to the invoice. Card payments carry a processing fee of 3% in the US and 4.5% for international buyers.
Authenticity: LePrix says it works only with suppliers it has vetted and that professional third-party authenticators inspect all items before they ship. It issues a certificate of authenticity from those authenticators for every item sold, delivered electronically at no charge.
If you change your mind: An order cannot be canceled once placed, and auction items are final sale. US buyers can return eligible Stock items for LePrix credit within 10 days of delivery, with a 10% restocking fee. The return policy does not cover buyers outside the US.

Aucnet Brand Auction (Japan)
Aucnet runs Brand Auction, which it calls the leading B2B auction site for luxury products in Japan. Its English site says over 25,000 products are auctioned every week, across bags, watches, accessories, apparel and precious metal. Buyers can bid in live and 3-day auctions or buy at a set price in its Brand Mall.
Who can join: Companies registered with their local government and based outside Japan can apply. Membership is ¥0, with a $99 ID issuance fee for members from the USA and Canada.
Buyer fees: Buyers pay a commission of 10% on items up to ¥100,000, with a minimum of ¥750, and 7% on items above ¥100,000. Shipping, payment fees and any import duties are paid by the buyer.
Authenticity: Aucnet accepts only sellers based in Japan, and every item passes through its inspection centers before it ships. Items are graded from S to D and authenticated to Aucnet's in-house standards. Its FAQ adds that no one besides the brand houses themselves can authenticate an item with complete certainty.
If you change your mind: A won item can be canceled only by paying a penalty of 30% of its final price.

A 10% deposit is due within one day of winning, and a canceled winning bid carries a 10% fee.
Authenticity: If you believe an item is counterfeit, EcoRing asks you to contact its support team within 21 days of the purchase date. If the item is confirmed to be counterfeit, it refunds the purchase price, and the buyer pays the return shipping.

How to Check a Bulk Purchase Before You Pay
Buying twenty bags at once multiplies both the margin and the cost of a mistake. These checks apply to any supplier, whichever platform you use.
Read the claim window first. Dealer auctions such as STAR BUYERS AUCTION and EcoRing set their own deadlines for reporting a problem, from two weeks to 21 days to one year. Authenticate every item inside that window, not when it sells.
Learn the grading scale. Auction grades such as S, A or B describe condition, not authenticity. Compare the grade with the photos before you bid.
Ask for documentation. Keep the invoice, the lot listing, the photos and any receipts, boxes or cards that came with each item. You will need them for a claim and for your own buyers.
Count the full cost. Add commission, membership, payment fees, shipping, insurance and import duties to the hammer price before you decide what a lot is worth.
Check prices that look too good. New-season pieces from the top houses offered in bulk at a fraction of retail deserve extra questions about where they came from.
Get a second opinion on incoming stock. Resellers can send photos of each item for an independent check through LegitGrails business solutions, which offer bulk verification and an API.
FAQ
Can I buy pre-owned luxury brands wholesale?
Yes, through the trade rather than the brands. Dealer auctions such as Aucnet Brand Auction and STAR BUYERS AUCTION sell pre-owned stock to registered businesses, wholesale platforms such as LePrix sell to approved resellers, and liquidation marketplaces such as B-Stock sell returned and overstock lots.
Do I need a license to buy at a luxury dealer auction?
It depends on the platform. STAR BUYERS AUCTION asks for a Japanese secondhand dealer license, Aucnet asks overseas buyers for a company registered with its local government, LePrix asks for a reseller's permit and business documents, and B-Stock asks for a resale certificate.
Are items at dealer auctions authenticated?
Each platform describes its own check. Aucnet inspects every item at its centers before shipping, LePrix has third-party authenticators inspect items before they ship, and EcoRing and STAR BUYERS AUCTION let buyers raise an authenticity problem within a set period. Authenticate each item yourself as well, before you resell it.
