Anton K. is a luxury authentication researcher and Head of Marketing at LegitGrails, author of the public authentication guides across luxury handbags, watches, sneakers, streetwear, and hyped apparel, covering 71+ brands since 2019. His guide research draws on professional reference texts and side-by-side work with authenticators previously at TheRealReal, Cudoni, and Handbag Clinic.

I started researching luxury authentication in 2019, first as a hobbyist correcting forum mistakes, then as someone who writes about it for a living. Seven years and 71+ brands later, I'm Head of Marketing at LegitGrails and author of every public authentication guide you'll find across this site.

My specialty is the difference between current-generation superfakes and authentic pieces. The skill of authentication is recognizing those differences quickly and consistently across thousands of references, and that's what I document in every guide. I cover what professional authenticators look for, and why. The same checks come back again and again across the categories I write about: luxury handbags (Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermes, Gucci, Dior, Prada), luxury watches (Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe), sneakers, streetwear, and hyped apparel.

I'm not just writing from the outside looking in. I spent a long time learning authentication myself, through both the free guides on this site and the paid LegitGrails materials. I know exactly what works in self-study and what doesn't, and I can say with confidence that a high level of authentication skill is reachable from online materials alone, if you put the time in. The guides on this site are written to make that path shorter.
