The Overall Look Method
The authentic bag features Louis Vuitton's iconic monogram canvas. Standard-sized monogram patterns adorn the Pochettes' front and back, with smaller prints appearing on the sides and bottom.
A lack of these two distinct monogram styles is a warning sign when assessing a bag.
The counterfeit pochette deviates in overall contour: its edges lack the authentic's smooth roundness, presenting a more rectangular form.
Furthermore, an imprecise and less defined print simplifies our task of identifying a fake.
The Print Method
In the comparison image, the flowers and the classic "LV" emblem on the counterfeit bag are misshapen and incorrectly colored.
Contrasting with the authentic piece, whose features are more substantial and enlarged, the fake LV Pochette bag's design suffers disproportionately, with overly thick and larger flowers and an "LV" emblem.
Moreover, they shouldn't be as yellow as displayed; this color difference makes the item look cheaper.

The Coin Purse Method
Let's examine the coin purses. The fake bag's overall silhouette seems slimmer compared to its authentic counterpart.
In contrast, the original Louis Vuitton Pochette coin purse is more substantial and boasts a larger dimension than the imitation.
Observing the outline reveals more: the authentic coin purse is characterized by robust, pronounced lines, while the counterfeit's construction hangs by the threads of its stitching.

The Zipper Method
Consider the symmetry of the original zipper. Its edges run parallel, forming an even rectangle with softly rounded corners that descend into a gentle curve at the base. The interior cut-out of this rectangle should be tidy and uniform.
Conversely, the fake zipper exhibits a unique shape and finish. It stretches longer than its authentic counterpart, with zipper teeth that are irregular and misaligned.
As with all aspects of a Louis Vuitton pochette, the stitching should be flawless. Ensure it's consistent and symmetrical, free of fraying or other visual defects. Unfortunately, the stitching on this counterfeit zipper fails to meet any of these criteria.
The Puller Method
The authentic bag's hardware sports a brassy, non-reflective finish, with the brand imprint on the puller appearing crisp and distinct. In contrast, the counterfeit model's puller is excessively shiny and reflective, bearing a somewhat untidy and puffed logo stamping.
Additionally, the fake puller is markedly larger. Given that precision characterizes Louis Vuitton pieces, spotting even the slightest discrepancy signals you're handling a counterfeit.

My vintage Gucci bag didn’t have a serial number making it impossible for the average person to know if it was genuine. So happy for the outcome of my genuine handbag. Thanks again.

I was looking for a way to authenticate high quality vintage items and came across LegitGrails. So I sent them several items to authenticate and they were terrific. I had to send additional photos a few time but that gave me more confidence in them!
The Leather Tag Method
The counterfeit Pochette's leather quality significantly underperforms compared to the original, an expected shortfall as counterfeiters typically resort to cheaper materials than those used in genuine products.
This discrepancy is palpable to the touch, with the top layer feeling like it could peel off imminently. Additionally, the coloration is off.
The craftsmanship also falls short, particularly in the stitching: the threads are lax and messy, contrasting starkly with the taut, uniform stitches showcased in the image to the left.
The Font Method
The letters on the fake model are inconsistently aligned, vary in size, and are thinner and smaller than intended, demonstrating the counterfeiters' inability to replicate the genuine Louis Vuitton label's font accurately. The imprints are not supposed to be as deeply etched into the leather.
The last difference in this method is the thickness of the label outline on the fake model, which is significantly thicker. (Check Bvlgari Serpenti Bag for similar issues)
The Date Code Method
In Louis Vuitton pieces, the date code is critical, comprising six characters. The initial two letters indicate the factory or country of production. The first and third numbers denote the week, while the second and fourth reflect the production year.
For the model in question, it purports to be from 2020. The issue isn't the year but rather the presentation of the date code — the leather quality diverges significantly, and the fonts are inconsistent.

The Date Code Method (Newer Label)
Examine the revised date code label alongside the fake; the counterfeiters repeated the same error, even with the slightly modified design of the newer label.
Rather than hot stamping the letters and numbers into the leather, they've been engraved, resulting in a completely different look; the characters should be square, not round, and slender.
The inferior quality of the imitation leather is another telltale sign of a counterfeit.

The Dust Bag Method
Every authentic LV bag comes with a soft dust bag featuring the Louis Vuitton logo at its center.
These white dust coverings are crafted from 100% cotton, boast finely finished seams, and maintain sheer simplicity.
The dust bag should display nothing but LOUIS VUITTON, with counterfeit producers often overcomplicating by adding excess information, thereby outing themselves. In this instance, the disparity in both the quality of the dust bags and the font styles is evident.
Is the LV Pochette Accessoires a good investment?
Since the components of this bag are sold separately, if you already own one of the mini leather products, it might not be a good idea to purchase the Pochette Accessoires.
If you don't have any of these little leather products, it's definitely worth considering.
