About Rebag

Rebag buys and sells pre-owned luxury goods through its website, its app and its stores. It was founded in 2014, and Charles Gorra is its founder and CEO.

Rebag is not a peer-to-peer marketplace where sellers list their own items. It buys items from customers, authenticates them and lists them for sale, as Modern Retail described its model in 2021. According to its Help Center, it also sells items on consignment and some items from a small number of vetted partners, which it calls Trusted Partners.

Rebag says it carries bags from over 50 designer brands, including Chanel, Gucci, Hermes and Louis Vuitton, with hundreds of new arrivals added every week. In June 2025, Rebag also launched a collection of its pre-owned items on Luxury Stores at Amazon in the US, according to a company press release.

For sellers, Rebag runs Clair, a pricing tool that gives an instant resale offer for many bags. You pick the brand and model, add some details about the bag and see its current resale value. If Clair cannot give an instant offer, you can send photos instead and Rebag says its team replies with an offer in 3 to 4 business days. Rebag says its offers take into account the brand, condition, size, color, material, resale price and popularity of an item.

Are Bags on Rebag Authentic?

Rebag is a legitimate business that has been selling pre-owned luxury since 2014. Its answer to the authenticity question is its own checking process. Rebag says every item goes through an in-house, multilayered evaluation by its authentication experts before it is approved and listed for sale.

Once Rebag receives an item from a seller, it is inspected to confirm it matches the details of the quote. Rebag lists inauthentic items among the reasons an item can fail its vetting.

If you buy an item and a verified authenticator later proves it to be inauthentic, Rebag says it will honor a full refund upon return of the bag.

Rebag is selective about what it buys. The brand has to be on its list of accepted designers. An item can also be turned down if it is in worse condition than described, was not meant for resale (such as a press sample or an employee purchase), or was monogrammed or refurbished by a third-party repair service. Rebag asks sellers to describe the item and its condition accurately and to send detailed photos of any signs of wear.

Rebag is independent of the brands it sells. It says brands do not guarantee the authenticity of goods sold on Rebag and that authenticity certificates are provided solely by Rebag.

How Does Rebag Work?

You can shop Rebag on its website, in its app or in its stores. As of October 2026, its store page lists 13 locations in California, Florida, Nevada, New Jersey and New York, several of them inside Bloomingdale's.

If you want to sell, Rebag offers three ways: Buyout, Consign and Trade.

After you accept a quote, you can ship the item with a prepaid label that Rebag emails you, or drop it off at a Rebag store.

With a Buyout, Rebag buys the item from you. It says processing takes about two to three weeks after it receives the item, and the payout is then added to your Rebag account within approximately 40 business days after processing is complete, according to its Help Center page read in October 2026.

You can spend that balance at Rebag right away, and Rebag adds a 10% Spending Bonus when you do. You can also transfer it to your bank, which Rebag estimates takes about five to seven business days. Balances transferred within 15 calendar days of being added to your account carry a 3% Early Transfer Fee.

Consignment works differently. You send the item to Rebag, which lists it for sale on your behalf and charges a commission when it sells. Rebag says commission is as low as 8% for in-demand, high-value pieces, and most items fall in the 15 to 25% range.

You get paid after the item sells. The sale stays pending for up to 22 business days in case the buyer returns it or cancels, and the payout reaches your Rebag account within approximately 15 business days after the sale is confirmed.

Consignors agree to a payout range up front. Rebag may change the listing price while your payout stays within that range. If a price drop would affect it, Rebag says it will notify you and you can ask for your item back free of charge. Trade, the third option, lets you sell items to Rebag and put their value toward a purchase in one transaction (US customers only).
